I was in lovely Verona last week for work, but still had the time to visit some of the city’s literary locations.
Juliet’s Balcony:
Piazza Dante
Shakespeare’s statue on Verona’s Wall, put there the Juliet’s Club, the association who answers all letters to Juliet. The inscription quotes Romeo and Juliet:
“There is no world without Verona walls,
But purgatory, torture, hell itself.
Hence-banished is banish’d from the world,
And world’s exile is death.”

I love this! I’ve seen Letters to Juliette, but I’ve never been to Verona (yet). Thanks for sharing the photographs with us.

I hope you enjoyed Verona! I saw Juliet’s balcony many many years ago… now the sight of all those lockets almost makes me sick 😦 Are they so prominent? (I guess they are…)

I never realised Juliet’s balcony was a landmark to visit – and didn’t make the link with the movie either!
Pretty pictures, thanks!

You got to see Juliet’s balcony! That’s just wonderful. I’ve been to Italy, but I haven’t made it to Verona before.

Oh, so beautiful! Verona was one Italian city I skipped when I backpacked through Europe many years ago because there weren’t any good accommodation options for backpackers in the city. I hope to rectify it on our upcoming trip (where we will spend some serious time in Italy!). Wish my work trips took me to such nice locations!

Thanks for the lovely photos. They remind any traveler planning to visit Verona that a trip to this destination is not complete without visiting Juliet’s balcony, because it is actually one of the must-see attractions in Verona especially if you are a big Shakespeare fan.
